The island nation of Ireland lies in the Atlantic Ocean. Between Ireland and Great Britain lies the Irish Sea. From 1920 onwards, Northern Ireland separated itself from Ireland. Even so, Ireland takes up most of the island. The smaller part of the island is known as Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. Ireland has 32 counties but six of these belong to Northern Ireland. However, the island as a whole continues to be known as Ireland. English and Irish are the two languages. However, Irish has become a minority language. Also known as the Emerald Isle, Ireland boasts of some spectacular fields that are both lush and very green. Ireland’s cities are very compact and are dispersed across the island. The cultural heritage of the country is also very rich. If you want to know more about Ireland, be sure to check out Twigel.
